I volunteer at Help, Inc. Because I believe in the integrity of this organization to provide food for those in need. I donate monetarily when I can because I see first hand how to treat those people in need with dignity. $25 can do amazing things in helping others have a good meal.
Help Inc. has been helping to feed people for the past 30 plus years. When I moved to Elk City to pastor a local church 25+ years ago I was thrilled to find there was an organization that I could refer people to who were in need of food assistance. I was so impressed I even become involved as a board member and later chairman of Help Inc. Most of the individuals that seek food assistance have jobs or live on Social Security, but do not have enough income to pay all their bills and buy food. Help Inc. steps in to provide enough nutritious food to supplement what the family is able to buy. Help Inc. has expanded over the years from providing food assistance for just Elk City to providing food assistance for four counties in Western Oklahoma in conjunction with the Oklahoma Food Bank. They now allow clients to shop through their center for food items that will appeal to their family which cuts down on the amount of food that would other wise be wasted. The congregation I pastor believes that the ministry of Help Inc. is so important that we provide assistance on a monthly basis through our regular budget and provide a yearly one time donation through our missions budget. If you should choose to donate to Help Inc. you can be assured that your money is going to help feed people in Western Oklahoma.
I can truely say that "Help of Elk City" is providing much needed food to the poor of our community. When my son moved to Sayre, he could not find a job right away. The only way he was able to feed his family was through Help of Elk City. Every time they went to get food, there was a long line of people already waiting, so the need is great. The food they received was good, wholesome and fresh food, and they were able to choose what their family needed, instead of being handed what someone else wanted to give them. Thank you, Help!

I volunteered for several years as receptionist at Help, Inc Food pantry. I have seen a number
of people so thankful for the food they received that they were in tears. I is very gratifying
to be a part of a program that benefits needy people they way the Pantry does. I have benefited personally from the food I have received, since I am on a small fixed income.
I am personally very thankful that the Pantry exists and wish it well in the future.
