Mission: Heartbeats of Hope was founded in memory of 17-year-old Katie Pittman, a leukemia victim. Katie's mission during treatment was to help other youth and children with cancer to have more pleasant hospital stays. She began a Christmas gift program, which Heartbeats of Hope has expanded to several times yearly. Visits are made to hospitals in Houston and Beaumont. We also sponsor blood/bone marrow drives, send children with cancer to Camp Periwinkle, and participate in American Cancer Society Relay for Life. In addition, Heartbeats of Hope works to help local families whose children are suffering from cancer.
