Mission: There are 180,000 deaf and hard-of-hearing children in the United States and as many as 400,000 more with some form of hearing loss. Many of theses children struggle with reading and writing the English language. The average reading level in deaf and hard-of-hearing children is at least two grades below their hearing peers. HiP has developed a consistent curriculum of language enhancing games and puzzles, informative stories and positive role models, that appeals to deaf and hard-of-hearing kids across the spectrum from the culturally deaf to the mainstreamed hard-of-hearing.
