Mission: Promote optimal maternal and child health; develop and implement health, welfare and education programs to benefit socially and economically disadvantaged mothers and infants.
Programs: Planned and facilitated two perinatal support service education and training sessions and community meetings on women's health issues for over 20 perinatal providers focused on maternal and infant health. Hmhb also provided support to assist in developing a plan to address systemic woman's and children's health issues. Hmhb provided resources, information and support to over 200 callers to the pregnancy resource, referral & information phone line and website and established partnerships with community health centers and health clinics to distribute text4baby program information to 2,400 new enrollees with key information to improve perinatal health. Hmhb also conducted safe sleep education and distributed over 100 cribs to low-income families who cannot otherwise afford to provide their baby with a safe sleeping environment.
