Mission: The mission of the foundation is to support, enpower, unify, and facilitate lgbt organizations and individuals in hawaii through financial and logistical support.
Programs: In 2014 the largest project was the lgbt center undergoing renovations in addition to getting new furnishings and equipments. The bulk of the cost was capitalize. Additionally, the foundation received donated (free) professional services from five individuals during the year which totaled $25,333 in value, including architectural services valued at $1,008, electrical renovation services valued $9,500, renovation services valued at $12,262 and other goods/services valued at $2,563. Part of this project also included the relocation of the old center's lgbt library collection to the the lgbt center in waikiki. As part of our goal (project) to provide the lgbt community with a safe meeting place. The lgbt center was used after the completion of renovations in april 2014 for the remainder of the calendar year by twelve (12) groups for meetings or events on sixty-five (65) separate occasions that were attended by over eight hundred and five (805) people. The meetings or events lasted for over one hundred and eighty-nine (189) hours. Additionally, the foundation held two (2) large open houses as informational events at the lgbt center during the calendar year where approximately three hundred (300) invited guests attended. Lastly, the foundation maintained scheduled drop-in/walk-in office hours at the lgbt center during the period to accommodate numerous other visitors and potential volunteers.
the foundation sponsored and co-sponsored various lgbt educational, social and cultural events, which included the 2014 honolulu rainbow film festival. Outside of the lgbt center including, a screening of the movie "kumu hina" (110 participants), national coming out day (376 participants), and the honolulu aids walk (outreach to several thousand individuals).
currently in the developing stage is the implementing of a college education grant program for lgbt students in hawaii.
