Programs: Fy2016-17 major program 1: comprehensive economic development strategy (revenue: county $14,000 + edah $18,519 = $32,519)the hawai`i island economic development board (hiedb) was privileged to prepare and finish the latest update to the comprehensive economic development strategy (ceds) with intent to serve as the blueprint for generating economic growth, diversification, job creation, and resiliency for hawai`i county. Support and funding for this effort was provided by the county of hawai`i through its department of research and development (r&d) and a grant from the economic development alliance of hawai`i (edah) of which hiedb is a member.
fy2016-17 major program 2: public education and community engagement for bioenergy hawaii (revenue: county $20,000)hiedb was privileged to work with and assist bioenergy hawai`i in developing and implementing a strategic public education and community engagement program aimed at fostering understanding of and support for its energy from waste (efw) program and project development with focus to divert waste from traditional landfill disposal by recovering the available resources and converting it into value based products that enhance and support the related industries of energy, recycling, and agriculture.
fy2016-17 major program 3: public education and community engagement for alaska aerospace corporation(revenue: private $16,000)hiedb was privileged to provide assistance to develop a 21st century roadmap for aerospace on hawaii island by means of shifting focus and misinformation related to prior space port proposal and obsolete technologies with long-term goal to increase and enhance community understanding and acceptance of alaska aerospace corporation's launch program.
