Mission: Because we believe life is sacred, hattie larlham enhances the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families through our commitment to comfort, joy and achievement.
Programs: Fund, promote and carry on scientific research in the public interest related to individuals who are disabled and to participate in such activities designed to promote the general health of the community. Research includes areas of psychosocial, clinical care, allied therapy, and assistive technology.
achieve personal independence and social responsibility for the autistic child that will lead to successful transition to a regular public school kindergarten with minimal support needs. The specific research objectives include: establish a replicable preschool model incorporating the elements common to effective intervention programs; create "best practice" guidelines for dissemination to families and professionals in the field of autism; develop a transition planning model that will effectively transition each child to their school district at age five or six; and contribute to the field of early intervention programming for autism through scholarly research and publication.
