Mission: Harvest home farmers market is a nyc non-profit organization dedicated to increasing access to local farm-fresh produce to low-income neighborhoods.
Programs: Farmers market -operated 18 farmers markets in four boroughs of nyc. Processed over 133,000 in supplemental nutrition assistance benefits and other food subsidies. Put fresh food on the table of over 275,000 new yorkers who live below 30 of the federal poverty level.
healthy living - enabled 1,300 children to enjoy supervised physical activity by learning new physical skills and sports in traffic-free spaces at the summer playstreets program.
healthy eating - helped 17,000 participants understand the importance of increasing fresh fruits and vegetables in their diet with simple, healthy affordable recipes through cooking demonstrations and workshops.
