Programs: Harborcreek youth services is a type 01 psychiatric residential treatment facility (prtf). The agency is licensed by the pennsylvania department of human services and the office of mental health and substance abuse services. Prtf candidates must meet the medical necessity criteria as determined by a licensed psychiatrist. Hys provides treatments to male youths entering the program between the ages of ten and eighteen who are diagnosed with a mental health disorder and who usually have delinquency and/or dependency issues. Hys also provides a private residential rehabilitative institution (prri) school.

The program is an excellent alternative to placement in a residential treatment facility, and is also useful as a step-down intervention to ease a child's re-entry into the community. Children are placed in a family setting for six to nine months.
