Mission: Harbor schools of maine, inc. Is a not-for-profit child welfare agency dedicated to providing an integrated continuum of quality, strength-based, therapeutic residential and community services to children and families in crisis. Our purpose is to help children and their families achieve their greatest potential by offering a range of quality services that allow us to tailor treatment programs to each individual need. Our therapeutic facilities offer intensive, integrated treatment, psychiatric services in affiliation with acadia hospital and an open therapeutic environment. Our programs are rich in recreational activities, nurturance and supportive structure to help the most at-risk youth move back to their families, less restrictive settings, foster homes, or independent living and become productive, healthy members of our communities. Our goal is to enable children and their families to rebuild cooperative and caring relationships at home and in the community.
Programs: Family centered therapy - an intensive therapeutic service for children with serious emotional disorders and their families. Services are provided in the setting that is most convenient to the family whether in-home or in the community. This is a short-term intensive service which normally lasts from 1-6 months.
outpatient - a comprehensive substance abuse and mental health diagnostic screening and assessment service. This program involves substance abuse and mental health co-occuring counseling; medication management service in affiliation with acadia hospital; family and individual therapy; and group therapy including interpersonal skill building, substance abuse, and support groups.
rockport ii - a therapeutic residential treatment program for at-risk, adolescent boys age 13-18 years old who are coping with co-occuring disorders (mental health and substance abuse issues). Residential education treatment - provision of education to 18 emotionally disturbed adolescents. Number of days served: 2610
