Mission: Halfway Ranch is a non-profit organization providing housing for pregnant teens. The couple running Halfway Ranch are loving caring parents looking to expand their home for more children. Both have lived in the Amador County area for more than 20 years and work with county agencies daily. Housing for pregnant teens is inadequate in California. The expansion would open up 6 new beds and room for emergency placements. Goals of Halfway Ranch: 24 Hour On-Site Counseling Pregnancy Prevention (recurring pregnancies) Tutors in Academics Life skill and Academic Classes on Sit Technological Opportunities Agricultural Opportunities Halfway Ranch has a working relationship with; Alcohol and Drug, Rape Crisis Center, Domestic Violence Council, Public Health Department, Probation Department, Child Protective Services,ect. At Halfway Ranch children will remain active in a non-violent environment. Modeling is one of our tools for teaching and with a secure and safe environment, teens will choose to make the right choices.
