Mission: The organization is an affiliate of habitat for humanity international, which seeks to eliminate substandard housing worldwide. The organization helps low-income families achieve the dream of home ownership
Programs: The organization builds new homes so that decent and affordable housing can be within the reach of any family willing to work for its dream. Habitat builds homes with the help of at least 450 hours of "sweat equity" from the families that will live in the homes. When complete, the home is sold at no profit, with a no-interest loan to the partner family. Proceeds of home sales support the building of more houses. Hurricane sandy devastated habitat's service area in october 2012. The organization continued its work rehabilitating homes for families devastated by the storm.
