Mission: To make a positive difference in the lives of children through unique opportunities for discovery
Results: Guided Discoveries has served over 1.5 million individuals since its founding in 1979. We have expanded to three facilities, allowing us to now serve over 52,000 individuals annually.
Target demographics: students in grades 4-12; summer campers age 8-17
Direct beneficiaries per year: approximately 52,000 individuals
Geographic areas served: schools from across the United States; summer campers from around the world
Programs: Guided Discoveries provides overnight field trip and summer camp programs for schools and individuals in California. The Catalina Island Marine Institute and Catalina Sea Camp focus on marine science and island ecology, while AstroCamp focuses on astronomy, physical science, and engineering.
