Mission: The mission of the non-profit, state of Florida Guardian ad Litem (“GAL”) Program of the 4th Judicial Circuit is to help fulfill society’s most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and a protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family.
Target demographics: Abused, neglected, and abandoned children involved in dependency court proceedings.
Geographic areas served: Florida's Duval, Clay, and Nassau Counties
Programs: Guardian ad Litem Volunteer Child Advocates are responsible for gathering facts surrounding a child’s case, reviewing reports, visiting a child’s home, school or placement and providing the court with an unbiased recommendation on what is required to serve the best interests of the child.
