Mission: Growing Hope is a small, local charity that supports children in the greater Northern Virginia area. All funds raised go directly to the children and their families. The Board of Directors does not receive any funds for salary or operating expenses. The Board consists of parents of children who are or who have been treated for cancer; therefore, we fully understand their disease. We provide funds to the children and their families to attend the circus, children's plays, group trips to amusement parks. We sponsor holiday parties and picnics. Additionally, we provide supplies for the play specialist to use to entertain the children during the long hours in the doctor's office. We provide special gifts that are donated to us to the children. We partially support a grief therapist to help children and families that are having a difficult time dealing with an impending death. We also assist families with such expenses as rent, telephone bills, car repairs when they cannot meet these expenses. A limit per family is set for this support.
