Causes: Community & Neighborhood Development, Economic Development
Mission: The mission of the groundwork richmond is to bring about the sustained regeneration, improvement and management of the physical environment by developing community-based partnerships which empower people, businesses and organizations to promote environmental, economic and social well-being.
Programs: In this fiscal period, groundwork richmond planted 105 trees with our youth green team in low-income neighborhoods. Tree-planting events included martin luther king day of service, president's day, cesar chavez day and arbor day.
groundwork richmond adopted two sites along the richmond greenway to rehabilitate. On 42nd and ohio, in partnership with local neighbors, gwr cleaned, weeded and mulched. Our green team installed an 8 panel mural depicting peace and environmental themes.
