Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services
Mission: To operate a comprehesive child youth focused program based in a facitlity that allows law enforcement, child protection, mental health education professionals, prosecutors, medical support services to work together to handle child abuse, neglect other matters involving youth affected by the legal system in a child-friend atmosphere.
Programs: Provided support and advocacy services to 205 children and their non-offending caregivers. Conducted forensic interviews of 192 alleged victims of child abuse and neglect. Provided 38 children with evidence-based, trauma-focused therapy. Worked with prosecutors, law enforcement, child protective services, and other victim service providers to coordinate child abuse cases in greenbrier, monroe, and pocahontas counties. Cyac doubled its number of direct service staff members, which enabled the agency to provide an unprecedented level of service to children and families. The cyac also completed several major renovations to its facility in lewisburg. Cyac was re-accredited by the national childrens alliance in late 2016.
