Mission: The greater reading mental health alliance is dedicated to promoting mental health wellness and recovery in berks county through advocacy, education and support.
Programs: Information, referral and advocacy program educates the public about mental health, mental illness, and effective treatments. This program also encompasses providing services to protect the rights of those with mental illnesses and case advocacy activities for mental health consumers.
client satisfaction and peer support programs:client satisfaction activities is designed to ascertain the satisfaction of mental health consumers with mental health services they are receiving through face to face interviews and mail surveys. The peer support program is based on the age-old tradition of peer mentoring, eligible individuals - referred to as "peers" - who need additional support in their mental health recovery are matched with consumers who have completed state accredited certification. By setting and meeting personal goals, peers become a model of mental illness recovery and may enjoy healthier and more productive lives.
