Mission:
The Urban Affairs Coalition unites government, business, neighborhoods, and individual initiatives to improve the quality of life in the greater Philadelphia region, build wealth in urban communities, and solve emerging issues.
Our vision is to partner with all segments of our community to ensure that every person has the opportunity for educational and economic success, and a secure and healthy life.The Coalition provides professional services to allow social entrepreneurs to carry out programs and projects, manages programs and partnerships and advocates for policy positions that can drive positive change.
Geographic areas served: The five-county Greater Philadelphia region comprised of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
Programs: Started in 1969, the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition (GPUAC) unites government, business, neighborhoods, and individual initiatives to improve the quality of life in the region, build wealth in urban communities, and solve emerging issues. Via policy development, program implementation, and professional services, GPUAC:? Strengthens the non-profit sector through excellence in service delivery, with a focus on grassroots-led organizations.? Improves the life chances for youth and young adults, with a special emphasis on African American boys and men, through programs, services and advocacy.?
