So many people become missing everyday, my daughter was one I was very lucky to find her within 24 hours but the thought of the prayers I said that night begging god to please let me find her alive searching those fields looking for her forever haunt me. I was lucky even though she was hurt...she was alive. I now Search for missing loved one for the Greater Michigan Search and rescue. none of us get paid and we reach in our own pockets to pull gas money out just to get to the area. We are 501-c but many don't want to hear about some one missing, So funds are limited.

We work cold cases also, and our service is free. we want to bring them all home but that just not always the case. Often we walk what I call the Line Of Grey, It when someone has done such Evil to some one and the most beautiful families cant rest because their love one is dead, the evil person is in prison but their love one is out there somewhere.. Than there is the stress of trying to find the child who is missing the urgency to find them. Everyone involved is forever changed. Even us searchers.

I hope you would give to a search group everyone of them are so important, we are ground pounders, there is K-9 teams, diving teams, horse mounted teams, and so many other types of teams and often we join forces. Not one search team is paid in the US yes people really do care and they give all they can and my team has come to be family to me to me they bring the best out of me we often feel God brought us together.

The families we meet become our families and you will never see such strong, loving and caring people, they leave an imprint on your life. In Michigan alone there are over 4100 people missing that don't include runaways or families drifted apart and they don't know a love one is missing.

So often families are angry when the police are limited to what they can do, That panic call to them often makes families feel they are so alone and what a search team does is to ease that feeling and with all the schooling and experience these searcher bring, eases the feeling of hopelessness. So if we don't win I hope who ever is reading this will volunteer at least once to search for a missing person. Just maybe you will bring a missing loved one home.
