Mission: To promote the economic vitality of austin, texas and the surrounding region, to encourage and support job creation and preservation, to attract and recruit new companies and industries to the austin region, and to encourage the retention of and support the expansion of companies and industries in the austin region.
Programs: Opportunity austin raised funds from the business community in order to promote the economic vitality of austin, texas and the surrounding region. The organization conducts studies and contracts with consultants to create programs and initiate methods that will attract new business to the region, provide a better educated workforce, and promote other community/business initiatives that will make austin a better business environment and community. Several programs conducted:1. Austin partners in education - to assist with local education initiatives. 2. Skillpoint - to provide a better trained workforce. 3. Various other initiatives affecting economic development in austin, texas.
