Programs: Project name: trick-or-teeth! Grandma's gifts believes that kids who establish healthy habits early in life, will carry that behavior into adulthood. Throughout the year we work with high school groups, girl scout and boy scout troops, middle school classes, and dentists to collect toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss, to send to county and city health departments in appalachia. This year we have already received more than $45,000 in dental hygiene supplies (about 30,000 pieces) donated by local middle schoolers. We then donated the supplies to 19 school districts in appalachian ohio, ensuring every first grader had a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss to take home for the summer break. With careful planning and scheduling our shipping and transportation costs were minimal!
