Mission: Grace community education provides educational programs for five male indiana department of corrections facilities by providing teachers and educational supplies to teach prisoners in indiana state prisons. The students supplied by the indiana department of corrections are of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status or ancestry.
Programs: Grace community education provides education programs for the indiana department of corrections. The programs are divided into three distinct categories. The adult basic education program provides literacy, high school equivalency preparation, and vocational classes for approximately 1,000 students. The second program is called workindiana and is a cooperative effort with the indiana department of workforce development. These students receive industry recognized certification in specific job skill areas. The program served approximately 100 students in 2016 with the expectation of expansion in the near future. The last is a college correspondence program currently serving approximately 100 students that provides college credit toward degree programs.
