Mission: The mission of the gordon square arts district is to employ the arts as a catalyst for economic development and revitalization of the detroit shoreway neighborhood through the restoration of the capitol theatre, renovation of the cleveland public theatre, construction of a performance center for near west theatre, improvements to the detroit avenue streetscape and parking acquisition and development.
