The amazing work that Good News has done is unparalleled. It is no surprise that DC has become too expensive for too many, but the great team here provides food and other services in a manner that is respectful and considerate. I’ve really enjoyed volunteering with them, as well.
I’ve worked with TGNCK to help feed the homeless in Washington, DC. This organization lives up to the hype and is a positive contribution to the community. Happy to have worked with them!
Volunteering at the Good News Community Kitchen has been one of the best things I have done in my life. The experiences have far superseded my expectations. Not only does volunteering there "truly" make you feel like you are giving back but It has made me more conscious of the needs that exist within my community. Through The Good News Community Kitchen, I have learned to be more grateful and open minded.
THE GOOD NEWS COMMUNITY KITCHEN IS AWESOME WITH A GENUINE LOVE AND COMPASSION FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE. I WAS LOOKING FOR A WAY TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND HELP THISE IN NEED. I READ ABOUT T.G.N.C.K. AND HAD TO SEE HOW I COULD BE I VOLVED. I SET AN APPOINTMENT TO COME IN AND FILL OUT THE PAPERWORK AND INTERVIEW WITH THE CREATOR MERCEDES KIRKLAND DOYLE-DOYLE. SHE WAS UNDER THE WEATHER THAT DAY, BUT STILL RIGHT THERE BEHIND HER DESK WORKING. SHE KEPT APOLOGIZING FOR NOT BEING 100% AS SHE EXPLAINED HER MISSION AND VISION FOR THE NONPROFIT. FROM THAT MOMENT ON I WAS IN AND HAVEN’T REGRETTED O E SECOND OF IT. I TOLD EVERYONE I KNEW ABOUT HER ORGANIZATION AND VOLUNTEERED EVERY CHANCE I COULD. I EVEN BECAME OFFICE SUPPORT WHILE I COULD. THIS TRULY HER HEARTFELT PASSION AND IT SHOW IN EVERY ASPECT OF T.G.N.C.K. MERCEDES AND THE ORGANIZATION WAS RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO HELPING THE LESS FORTUNATE AND BEING A TRAILBLAZER IN THE FIGHT TO HELP THOSE IN NEED. I WAS SO PROUD AND HAPPY TO SEE HER HARD WORK AND SKILL BEING RECOGNIZED ON NATIONAL TV FOR ALL THE WORKD TO SEE...IT WAS WELL DESERVED. I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO GO TO THE WEBSITE AND SEE WHAT T.G.N.C.K. IS ALL ABOUT AND SUPPORT THIS AMAZING ORGANIZATION IN FEEDING, CLOTHING AND ASSISTING ANYONE OF ANY AGE WHO NEEDS A HELPING HAND.

The Good News Community Kitchen is a wonderful organization that truly cares about their cause. Everytime I get a chance to volunteer with them I attend. The energy level of the members and other volunteers transfers through to the people they help. I've volunteered with their meals on wheels as well as with their STEM program, where I gave a presentation on Architecture. I believe that the success of all great organizations start at the top and Mercedes has really done a great job growing the organization and motivating the people around her.

As a volunteer, I work with owner Mercedes Kirkland-Doyle, who runs the operations to improve the lives of homeless people. Her efforts bring joy and sustainability to several communities every year.
