The purpose of this service is to involved the children into leadership roles. Children are encouraged to serve and participate as worship leaders, ushers, preachers. In the year 2016, the macedonian call ministry at good news club ministries has helped develop and empowered approximately 25 small congregations providing help with obtaining tax exempt status, and resources to assist their members. It is also served as a leadership development program for youth to undergo leadership training and civic education workshops, which serve as a way to identify and address some of the problems in their community. Youth then initiate projects that focus on creating lasting change within the communities in which they belong. Good news outreach: the outreach program is an elegant social gathering in a non-threatening environment. Monthly dinner gathering organized to improve fellowship within our fellowship and others in the community. This program also help in teaching table etiquette and social manners to our youth and children. It is also an evangelism tool. Unsaved individuals are invited to have dinner, thereby opening the door to talk about christ. Speakers for the outreach dinner parties are trained men and women with whom the guests can easily relate. The speaker's message is clear and at the conclusion of the evening, guests are given an opportunity to pray to receive christ if desired. Based on comment cards that the guests fill out at the end of the evening. During the year 2016 many of those who have attended these gathering has indicated a desire to know more about christ and or would like to have more information about how to know him personally. For the year 2016 a total of over 1000 community members have attended one or more of the many gatherings such as the 2016 annual christmas celebration and sunday during the toys giveaways for children in need. The community youth choir has held 52 session of choir practice and 26 performances throughout the year. During the year 2016, a total of 500 individuals have attended the bible group discussions among those 500 individuals 60 to 70 youths have participated in our community leaders program. Youth programs: the club has a mentoring program that offers youth ages 5-12 with a safe place to socialize and engage in support groups where youths can share their experiences, develop and increase coping skills, and offer one another mutual support. In addition good news club ministries offers an after school and summer program which promotes social, educational, athletic, and civic development where young people are able to receive one on one tutoring, homework assistance, primary outcome: increased leadership skills & self efficacy. During the year 2016, our dance program continues to grow. Participants of the dance and modeling program continue to improve their self-esteem and confidence by performing at celebrations, festivals, and fashion shows that they put together themselves. The youth of good news club ministries international inc. Also takes pride in our yearly march madness events. 2016 march madness was better than ever. The young women have chosen once more to go on a "girls night out" and dedicated to raise awareness of the danger of breast cancer and early detection and prevention and to bring families together. Haitian american young and old have chosen to take part in the many fun filled activities throughout the whole month of march. The purpose of march madness is to bring together both the young and old generations and provide an atmosphere of fellowship and camaraderie. For the year 2016, we had a total of 60 youths from ages 5-14, 20 youths from ages 15-20, and about 25 young adults. Altogether the number of participants sum up to 500 to 1500 active march madness attendees. Our annual "girls of distinction" the second level added last year continues to grow adding more young men both program is designed to help: (1) reduce the number of adolescents engaging in premarital sexual activity; (2) reduce the incidence of out-of-wedlock pregnancies among adolescents; and (3) reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases among adolescents, thereby improving the futures of haitian youths. In addition, the "girls of distinction" and the boys of successful standard program is dedicated train the participants on how to act like distinguish ladies and gentlemen having the ability to properly conduct themselves at home, in school, and in other public places. The program taught the girls the importance of developing their relationship with god, and consisted of a number of activities and training courses designed to improve the lifestyle the young ladies and young gentlemen so that they may be better prepared for a successful lifestyle. Here is an idea of all the activities that the girls took part in during this program: etiquette training and quizzes to show the proper manner in which the girls are to carry themselves; speech training to teach these girls when and how to speak in public and in private places and also how to speak with authority when found appropriate; bible study twice a week to develop an understanding and trust in god; christian dance training two hours per day in order to teach the importance of working for god, to take away shyness, and to discover untapped talent; choir rehearsal once a week to develop articulation, enunciation, and singing skills; tennis lessons every saturday to support athletic skills; ministering dance and song at churches all over miami and broward, picnics and swimming at different parks to create friendships and promote outdoor activities; vision parties are always the highlight of the program dedicated to instill in young people that they can be whatever they put their beautiful minds to; and lastly a photo shoot to exemplify their newly found high self-esteem. At the end of the completed course, each participants receive a certificate of completion. Furthermore, parents are invited to a graduation banquet to witness the change in their children. In a couple of weeks these girls went from loud, slouchy, inactive, illiterate, slang speaking kids to ladies of excellent distinction. Instill. Furthermore a total of 527 clients received information and assistance in applying for citizenship, of the 527 who received information and assistance in applying 5 had succeeded in becoming american citizens and 150 have participated in our civic education classes. 25 haitian adults' clients were provided assistance in computer classes held daily (monday through friday) and 50 received english (esol) classes twice a week. (excluding the food program) 75% haitian, 15% african american, 9% hispanic, and 1% caucasian and received the following services: an annual total of 3500 plates of hot meals were served to homeless clients including donation of clothes, and blankets. As many as 12 families have received emergency housing assistance. For the year 2016 our grocery assistant programs have provided a total of 10400 households with groceries and other accessories and considering that each household have approximately 5 people, it is estimated that 41600 individuals were served . Our shelter assistance program have provided 5 young people with a place to live. Overall, for the year 2016 good news club ministries have provided 365 hours of health awareness workshops, 10 sessions of english and civic education classes, 1500 hours of immigration assistance and benefits application assistance, 300 hours of computer access and classes at the community center, 10 sessions of marriage counseling, 500 sessions of recreation and workshops, and 500 hours of the telephone help line, where trained volunteers provide referrals, resources and information that provide weekly workshops to educate and assist clients in preparing medicaid and kid care and obama care applications in our office and during health fairs. Furthermore, good news club have provided 1500 book bags and loaded school supplies to children returning to school during the 2016 fall season. Finally, our 2016 christmas toys giveaways was a total success, we provided 3200 toys to unprivileged children in the miami, north miami, north miami beach, hialeah community. 2016, good news club ministries serves low-income individuals in south florida by providing social service programs which meet basic family needs including food, shelter, education, referral to public benefits and new immigrant assistance in a culturally-competent manner that is particularly helpful to haitian clients. As a qualified dcf access partner, helping hand food pantry at good news club ministries serves approximately 500,000lbs fruits and vegetables and other food items to provide hunger relief. In addition to utility and rental assistance. Helping hand food pantry is expanding toward providing further assistance to more clients. Our office is located at 249 ne 166 street north miami beach, fl 33162. We are open monday thru friday from 10:00 to 5:00 pm. The food pantry is open wednesdays 5:00pm to 7:00pm for distribution. We are also open on friday from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and on saturday morning1:00pm to 2:00pm by appointment only, for emergency food distribution. We currently have 100 volunteer staff members in charge of distributing to all eligible recipients regardless of race, color, or religion
