Mission: To offer support and free medical care to the indigent, homeless and low income people in hall county who have no health insurance and cannot afford medical care.
Programs: Medical and dental services:the sam poole medical clinic provides free ongoing primary medical care, specialty care referrals, prescription medications, and patient education classes to hall county residents who are uninsured and whose family income falls within 150% of the federal poverty level. The sam poole medical clinic is the only free clinic in hall county and the only access to medical care for the uninsured in our community unable to pay for health care. Last fiscal year, october 2016 to september 2017, the sam poole medical clinic provided primary care to 1,880 individuals, 11,238 patient visits, 11,324 laboratory tests, and the dispensary filled 39,289 prescription medications all at no cost to patients. Services were made possible through volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants contributing 2,179 volunteer hours, and community volunteers contributing 6,735 volunteer hours, as well as the generous financial support from individuals, united way of hall county, churches, businesses, private foundations and other organizations. Additionally, volunteer physical therapists contributed 212 hours, providing 184 patient visits. The green warren dental clinic provides free acute dental care including examinations, x-rays, extractions, fillings, sealants, and oral health education to uninsured adults and children who are residents of hall county and whose family income falls within 150% of the federal poverty level. Through the service of volunteer dentists, acute dental treatment is provided to alleviate the pain, address other dental problems, and assist the patients in returning to their normal daily activity, including getting back to work. The green warren dental clinic is the only free dental clinic in hall county and the only source for dental care for those in our community unable to pay for dental care. During last fiscal year, october 2016 to september 2017, the green warren dental clinic provided 6,692 dental patient visits serving 1,623 individuals.
specialty care services:through the 2012 merger with health access initiative, inc. , good news clinics coordinates medical services for patients not available at the clinic, including assistance with a broad range of complex healthcare issues through private practice physicians and northeast georgia medical center, such as: specialty care referrals, xrays, surgery and hospitalization. During the period of october 2016 through september 2017, the value of services provided to patients through these referrals was $ 10,243,770.
