Causes: Chambers of Commerce & Business Leagues
Mission: To use the cooperative business model to assist california communities to create and manage non-profit, member-owned, member-controlled energy cooperatives that provide honest, efficient, affordable, and reliable electric service. Golden state power cooperative strives to minimize the legislative and regulatory burden on california's electric cooperatives so that they can serve their communities affordably.
Programs: Golden state power cooperative provided cost-savings services to each of their members, including legislative and regulaory affairs, educational endeavors, cooperative development and other areas. We hosted an annual meeting to educate members, collaborate on programs with our associates, elect officers, and comply with the bylaw requirements. We educated cooperative employees and directors regarding federal and state programs, regulations and legislation regarding energy efficiency, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and overall energy policy issues.
