I participated in "Breakfast with St. Nicholas" with my "nephew" and was able to experience the awesomeness of Go Beyond Your Knowledge. Every Black child needs to experience the education and pride GBYK shares with our community. I missed a tremendous opportunity for my 12th-grade son to learn from such a wonderful organization.
Both of my children gained a wealth of knowledge from GOBYK. My oldest son has attended this camp for a decade. He continued to learn this Summer in the virtual youth camp & now assists his little brother w/bingo. Every time I review my children’s lessons or attend the camps (Pre-Covid) finally performances, I leave having gained more knowledge of Black history.
Our son had an amazing experience this past summer in the GBYK virtual camp for teens! He learned so many interesting facts about the African American experience here in America- many of which were never covered in school. The sessions, run by experienced board certified educators, were interactive and fun! He's looking forward to the next GBYK learning experience and the opportunity to reconnect with the team.

When you think you know it all... GOBYK comes up with something you didn’t know!!! New and fresh information is presented during each session. The wonderful GOBYK boxes are filled with educational materials and special keepsakes!!! This is by far the best camp ever! Very reasonably priced and captures all audiences of different ages and races!!!
My children Currently ages 21 and 15 both are GobYK alums. Our family embraces black history and culture and while both were exposed to some black history in their private school settings, the summer GOBYK summer camps/programs were a special way to learn connect and grow with African American children of all ages and of course GOBYK staff and instructors were professionals academically trained in the subject matter but what made them unique was their ability to convey the information in an engaging creative way. If the program had the resources it would have been a great to have a program for older children middle school to HS. Moreover, the GOBYK program and creators are apart of our extended family now and my two black men cherish their time and have very fond memories of their GOBYK log cabin days.
