Mission: Global underwater explorers emerged out of a shared desire to safely explore and protect the underwater world and to improve the quality of education and research in all things aquatic. In line with the original vision of its founding members, gue is committed to:-developing safe, skilled, and knowledgeable divers-undertaking and promoting underwater research-pursuing global underwater exploration-safeguarding the integrity of the underwater world-providing the public with a comprehensive resource on all things aquatic. Working to redefine the ties binding the average underwater enthusiast to underwater explorers, conservationists and scientific researchers gue is committed to the overall goal of promoting the interests of the underwater world and of those who seek to engage it.
Programs: Global underwater explorers, inc (gue) expanded diver training programs by training new instructors, and developing new educational tools. Education tools include the production of new powerpoint presentations and revisions of old presentations. Gue conducted numerous public presentations(relating to diver training, exploration, and conservation). Gue expanded upon its conservation initiative by adding new internation groups and utilizing the donation of a research vessel to conduct baseline observations. Gue continues to explore the farthest reaches of the underwater world. Gue is unique in its ability to perform such diving during which they catalog observations, collect water samples, install flow meters, video never before seen regions and facilitate the understanding of our underwater world. Since our inception, we have certified more than 15,000 people in our curriculum. In 2014, we certified more than 1,800 people in our courses ranging from our beginning courses such as gue fundamentals to our advanced courses, like our rebreather class. Our membership averaged approximately 1,300 in 2014.
