Mission: The organization was formed and exists to: - connect with the international community by serving them and providing cultural events for them to participate in; - make friends by inviting them into our homes; - learn about their culture while sharing aspects of ours; - create opportunities for them to observe and participate in our spiritual communities, at their option. Form 990-ez, part iii - program services the organization provides the infrastructure for volunteers from 9 churches and ministries to serve internationals in the bowling green area. These other partnering organizations and volunteers provide tens of thousands of dollars of food, supplies and other items which are used or given away at the organization's events. In addition, the partnering churches and ministries provide hundreds of volunteer hours for the organization's events and programs.
Programs: Free food & furniture event - a welcome picnic for newly arriving international students where household items and furnishings are given away.
international thanksgiving dinner - a traditional thanksgiving dinner is provided to 260 international students as well as free raffle prizes.
welcome picnic for international seasonal workers - a welcome picnic is provided for international seasonal workers and household items are given away.
the organization sponsored and hosted over 30 different events, with some of these events occuring weekly, that resulted in participation from almost 1,800 international participants (some attended more than one event). The organization is based in a college town with a very large and impressive international community. The organization's numerous volunteers in conjunction with the aforementioned programs were able to connect with approximately 80% of incoming new international students in 2017.
