Mission: Part iii line 1: statement of program service accomplishments to provide a means through which aid may be given to those in need, particularly people in third world countries. Global connections addresses social injustice through sustainable humanitarian aid to the orphan, widow, poor and oppressed while providing opportunities to serve and learn from the world's marginalized people.
Programs: Limuru children's centre (lcc): maintain baby home section that houses up to 12 abandoned infants waiting for adoption. Adoptions are ongoing and the baby home is able to continue to accept new infants as others are adopted. Provide education opportunities to 292 children from preschool through college. The godparent sponsorship program continues to provide financial support to house, feed, and educate the 60 children in the full legal custody of the lcc. The lcc provides a home with parents, tutoring, education, counseling, medical care, and all other related needs. The lcc operates two preschools providing disadvantaged children with educational opportunities to prepare them for success in primary school and beyond. The lcc also operates the life house which is a transitional program for lcc teenagers as they move through high school, college or trade school and into independent adulthood.
feeding programs: pat's feeding program is organized by pat dixson, a british native of kenya. She operates a bi-monthly feeding program for the elderly and single women who are hiv positive. During the winter, she also provides blankets and other basic needs. This progrm serves approximately 500 individuals/families. The katana feeding program provides one meal weekly to an average of 60 children per week. It is overseen by evans katana, a kenyan pastor and bible college administrator. During the school holidays (twice each year), pastor katana also provides a retreat/camp for the children emphasizing learning shkills, healthy relationships, and personal wellness.
