I absolutely Love everything G.Y.R.L. stands for its very personal and near and dear to my heart. To know that they care enough for people in our community to help out whenever they can is unheard of these days without any funding. Just simply working consistently in our community for years is special. I will continue to support this organization and hope you will as well.
Giving Yourself Real Love! Is an awesome organization whose programs are so essential and beneficial to our community. This is the kind of organization whose activities, events, and programs blesses this community and are needed in every community to not only make people aware of the need for the entire community involvement because it deals with present and future needs of the children and adults that struggle with domestic violence but also the great need for education of children and adult training and behaviors that heal, and train humans how to be better humans. I salute you GYRL and your founder Ms. E. for your diligence, perseverance and the strength of your love and care that makes it all possible.

G.Y.R.L. Is an incredible and necessary organization. They do amazing grassroots work in Kansas City will children and survivors & victims of domestic violence. Everyone involved truly cares for the community and the people as individuals with complex needs and varying histories and struggles. Ms. E, the founder and director, sees into your soul , cares so deeply, and works tirelessly every single day. She invites everyone to the table to share their ideas and take initiative to make things happen. I’ve never worked with a nonprofit that adhered so fervently to their mission of creating real change in the community they are of and serve.
The project that got me involved was the Victims of Domestic Violence Memorial Rose Garden—now one of the largest rose gardens in all of Kansas City. It provides a very pleasant place for the children in the neighborhood that does not have many good spaces for kids to play due to divestment and neglect in behalf of the city.
G.Y.R.L. is not just a organization that serves victims and families of domestic violence or victims of sexually, physical , mental abuse , this group of dedicated women have given me hope that there is life after domestic violence, I thank Ms.E for consistently telling me, Nashonda I see you.
GYRL is truly about love of people and love of community. The organization works with people where there is need for love and encouragement and hope and justice. GYRL not only raises the voice about domestic violence in our city, they raise the voice about concern for children and educating them to have self-love and self-respect as well as respect for others and they raise concern about needs for better community infrastructure. GYRL is about building community in our inner city and it is beautiful to witness and be a part of.
I support whole hearty G.Y.R.L (Giving Yourself Real Love) This is an amazing organization that truly believe in helping not only domestic violence victims and survivors , but also the youth in our community. We provide workshops for the adults and several youth programs for our children.
Ms. E has giving her dream a platform and it is my pleasure working along side her to make this organization grow bigger and bigger each year.
GYRL provides excellent and authentic services to individuals and families. I respect the fact that this organization serves with boldness and care in the heart of the city. They are reaching many people with authentic actions. I have seen and collaborated with GYRL in their work from a prevention and intervention perspective. The education classes they provide build those they serve at the core level and I am touched by what GYRL does all year long...Food/Toy Drives to those who need help...Building Homes...Providing A Community Garden and more!! I pray for more to sow into what they are doing!

GYRL is an amazing place in the Urban Center where our youth can learn skills and better their self worth. Volunteers work with them to challenge them to be comfortable in their skin and add character to who they are. GYRL is also a place where survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault can come and feel safe and comfortable with sharing their story as well as a plan for escape from the tormentor. GYRL is a place where "Giving Yourself Real Love" is the true connecting piece to peace in a way that's not traditional but effective.
I am writing so in support of G.Y.R.L. I have volunteered with them for over 10 years or more. I assist them by providing Resources like clothes, shoes, sheets, blankets, my resource book that assist with Utilities, housing, employment and much more. I volunteer to help her set up to for Conversations, Counseling, and gatherings she pro vide for the Victims of Domestic Violence and their Children. Gloria Ellingtons Heart has always been big when it comes to helping and assisting victims of Domestic Violence. G. Y. R. L. Has been a great, great asset to the Community. They are the Communities Family and a great provider when in need of help.
As a Board member, I have watched countless volunteers give up weekends to make sure this organization can provide services to those affected by domestic violence in addition to the various programs for children. GYRL has always been committed to providing services to the community and continues to innovate in the area of domestic violence. Great organization with a BIG vision.
Amazing programs for women and children. Ms E is truly dedicated to helping children and women in the community.
GYRL provides local youth with opportunities and skills that they wouldn't have access to otherwise. The students love their graphic design and chess programs. Also, their memorial garden is peaceful, beautiful and smells incredible. The garden's on its way to becoming a wonderful butterfly habitat.
I have volunteered with GYRL for the past three and a half years. I wanted a place for my granddaughter, who was 12, to experience new things and work on her potential to become an outgoing young lady. My granddaughter is now 15 years old, and thanks to GYRL, she has blossomed into a confident young lady. Through GYRL, she has had the opportunity to sing and speak publicly with confidence. She has earned community service work hours and teaches other children in GYRL piano lessons.GYRL is a Godsend to us. The options this program offers are invaluable such as The Art’s, public speaking, chess, computer graphics, and much more. If not for this program, I can’t imagine my granddaughter being an outstanding young lady and wounder the incredible possibilities thanks to GYRL what the future holds for her.
I’ve been volunteering with GYRL for two years and The community, support, and real love is what keeps me coming back. They also have a beautiful 250+ Rose garden which is a place of peace and memorial for victims and survivors of domestic violence.
I support GYRL I volunteered a few times I took my grand children I think it’s a great opportunity for the children and inner-city is a great opportunity for children he says video games they do all sorts of activities give them self-esteem and opportunities to do things that kids don’t get to do other wise
The meaning of Gyrl, is exactly what the abbreviation intells. It allows you to : give yourself real love. Self love is very important. They have some great speaker's, and employee's that are about all different kinds of empowerment! They also work with the kid's. I pray one day , more people will get involved because the community needs it, and is in need of this wonderful program.
This organization really understands the needs of the community and does the work. I have seen and followed GYRL and the hard work and dedication of its founder and her team. It’s beautiful and inspiring. We need more of her and this. I’ve seen how the children, adults and community are nurtured, taught and cared for. After watching for years, I finally went to a few events and experienced it in persons and it was a wonderful display of all that we should be doing to uplift, empower and encourage each other and the community.
