Mission: Give Back Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for positive programs that support and enhance the lives of the diverse groups of people in our local communities.
Results: Pets for Vets Give Back Wisconsin has successfully matched our military veterans with companion animals in local shelters through our Pets for Vets program. As the local chapter for this national organization, our mission is to help heal the emotional wounds of veterans by using the human-animal bond to provide a second chance for shelter animals by rescuing, training and pairing them with America's servicemen and women who could benefit from having a companion animal. Dreams Come True Through our Dreams Come True program, we are partnering with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and local professional sports teams to provide sports loving children who have undergone medical and/or physical hardships, with a fun filled day at a local sporting event at no cost to the child's family. Repurposing School Supplies Give Back Wisconsin aims to improve our local schools through reclaiming used school supplies and giving them back to other schools with strained budgets and lower income communities. Many schools in our area simply do not have the budgets necessary to supply teachers and students with essential supplies needed for a proper learning environment. We will work with suburban schools to help collect gently used supplies or new supplies. Give Back Wisconsin will also take monetary donations and purchase new supplies to distribute to schools in need. Bridging the Generation Gap Give Back Wisconsin understands the importance of all generations and their contributions to our communities. The project vision is to unite high school youth with senior citizens through various volunteering and mentoring interactions. Just a few hours each week together can leave a lasting impact on the lives of both. Whether it’s getting seniors up to date with the latest tech gadgets or taking a short walk to enjoy the outdoors, these interactions play a pivotal role in the relationships between our senior and youth communities.
