Mission: The organization works to provide innovative programs for 17,000 girl members and 5,000 adult members and strives to offer girls a safe environment where they can discover new things about themselves, connect with others and take action to positively change the world.
Programs: Programs-the girl scout program is based on a core set of values and principles outlined in the girl scout promise and law. We teach leadership skills through numerous council and partnership programs that explore technology, business, sports, camping, academic success, career options, healthy living and the value of community service.
membership development-almost 17,000 girls and approximately 5,000 adult members are provided with the resources and materials to ensure a quality educational program is provided for girls 5 to 17. In girl scouting-and its special girl-only environment-girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together.
camp-an outdoor experience is another environment to help girls grow strong. At camp blue bay and our summer fun program, girls learn skills to be independent, resourceful leaders for the future. Troop camping, family camping, day camp and resident summer camp are available at facilities operated or owned by girl scouts of nassau county. Summer day camp is located in a nassau county park.
