Causes: Human Services, Thrift Shops
Mission: To operate an all-volunteer non-profit thrift shop to benefit the animals of isle of wight county, virginia.
Programs: During 2017, gimme shelter provided $26,674 to twenty-one local local veterinary practices, the isle of wight county humane society, iow county animal shelter and local spca for the care, treatment, support and placement of local pets and animals. Changes were made in several long-standing inventory acceptance, processing, storage and sales procedures to more clearly focus on and maximize meeting customer wants and needs in 2018. Also, the yearly $5k veterinary scholarship program is being replaced by a targeted veterinary related educational grant tuition assistance program.
