Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: To assist persons with disabilities to realize the goals of learning, living and working in the community. To provide advocacy and support systems for these individuals and their families in obtaining programs and opportunities for growth and development. To make efforts to advance the general public's knowledge understanding and acceptance of persons with disabilities.
Programs: Approximately 21 individuals are served in the work center and life skills programs. These are employment and habilitation training programs that enable consumers to be gainfully employed and learn new skills such as cooking, nutrition, reading, computer skills, safety and social interaction.
57 individuals are served in the supported living program which is a 24 hour care program. These individuals are supported in their daily living skills, community involvement, shopping, and employment, so they can stay in their own homes. This includes transportation to and from medical appointments, community outings, workcenter, and other various activities.
three residential group homes are maintained under the state of indiana's residential medicaid program. Approximately 22 individuals are served in the residential program.
