Mission: Gethsemane international's purpose is to grow christ-like young men and women by providing homes filled with the love of jesus christ for abandoned, orphaned street children in kenya. Our emphasis is on the development of spiritual depth in the heart of each child, as well as meeting their physical, educational, and emotional needs.
Programs: In 2011, gethsemane international continued to meet the physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of orphan children in kenya. Two homes with 10 staff menbers provided food, shelter, educational instruction , and encouragement in a loving environment to 58 kenyan orphans. Gethsemane opened a primary school serving about 25 children in kindergarden through 4th grade. Two teachers and one administrator have been hired to minister to the students in the school. In may of 2011, a ten member mission team traveled to kenya where they spent two weeks loving and serving many of the people of kenya. Team members constructed picnic tables for each of the gethsemane homes there. They also installed a basketball goal for the children to enjoy. The missions team conducted a bible club for the gethsemane children which included games, crafts, and bible lessons. They also traveled to a rural kenyan village where they presented the gospel to several classes in a public grade school. Over 40 children made commitments to jesus christ. Gethsemane connected with the village's local pastor who will continue to disciple these new believers.
