I have been affiliated with GAFRC for 14 years and have I been educated. I knew that there were people who had to struggle with hunger but I never imagined how dire the situation is. Each year I have seen it grow and we have grown to reach approximately 7,000 hunger victims a year. I actually had a personal experience in my family. A cousin of mine called for help and her children were out of school for the week and they had no food. Well you can imagine my surprise when I got there and put the food away and there was nothing and I mean nothing in her house except a pack of green peas in the freezer. This was a few years ago and to this day I can't get the picture of those empty cabinets, refrigerator and the single pack of peas in the freezer. GAFRC is a much needed service and non-profit. Because of them many men, women and children do not go to bed hungry at night.
