Mission: Mitchell-Baker County Mental Retardation Association, Inc. was formed to provide a building for and assist the Mitchell-Baker Area Retardation Center. The association borrowed funds from SBA, built a building, and rents it to the center for a nominal rental. Also, the association makes contributions to the center on a regular basis. In 1983-84 the association borrowed funds from FHA and began construction on another building to be rented to the center for use as a handicapped workshop.
