Programs: Residential treatment: residential treatment services offer graduated levels of care that are appropriate for individuals leaving an acute care facility who are not ready for community reintegration. Residential communities are licensed by the state of georgia, accredited by the joint commission, and are unlocked voluntary facilities. Licensed nursing staff is onsite 24/7. Skyland trail south residential campus offers the most intensive level of support, while skyland trail north offers more opportunities to practice independent living skills. Residential clients living at south and north come to the main campus each weekday for evidence-based psychiatric services and individual and group therapy sessions. During 2014, admissions grew seven percent over 2013 with a 38 percent growth in clients from outside the southeast region. 31 percent of clients received a financial aid award during 2014.
day treatment: most skyland trail clients begin in the residential treatment program and step down to the non-residential day treatment program as they make progress toward their recovery goals. Other clients admit directly to day treatment. Day treatment clients participate in a full schedule of individual and group sessions to help them achieve their recovery goals. Evidence-based group therapy sessions include psychotherapy, education, and adjunctive therapy group sessions. During 2014, 90 percent of clients with anxiety experienced statistically significant improvement in control of anxiety, 100 percent of clients with mania broke their mania while in treatment, 80 percent of clients who were depressed experienced statistically significant improvement, and 86 percent of all clients experienced a statistically significant improvement in feelings of hopelessness.
physician services: treatment at skyland trail begins with the physician's psychiatric evaluation at the time of admission. The key to successful treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis. After the physician's initial evaluation and diagnosis, the patient will begin treatment in the appropriate level of care (i. E. Residential, day treatment, or case management). Physicians continue to see and treat patients weekly on an outpatient basis, providing psychopharmacology and psychotherapy services. Physician services are a prerequisite for all other services at skyland trail.
