Geneva Lake Women's Association is a wonderful organization helping many of our local charitable organizations throughout the greater Walworth County region. Not only are they dedicated to great causes, but I have made wonderful friendships with women who have graciously welcomed me into this community and supported me, making me only love this amazing town even more.
I have been a member for many years. I have served on the board and have seen first hand what this organization has meant to the Walworth County Community. Helping several charities, in many different areas of need. Proud to be a member.
Treasure Sperry from GLWA was a great support in helping a local group raising money for a little boy that needed a heart. GLWA is a group of woman in tune with the community and its needs. GLWA brings woman together and makes good things happen in their community!
Amazing, welcoming and fun! Women of all walks of life. A great place to meet other ladies in town and all charities are located in west alworth county so the money raised stays here. ❤️
Great non profit organization that serves all of Walworth County Wisconsin. The organization raises funds to contribute to a multitude of other non profits and worthy recipients of funds , ranging from homeless shelters to animal shelters. Not only does the organization contribute funds ,but they are also involved in service projects like the Children’s Art Show and Safety Town. The fundraising events themselves are amazing as well. 2 of the top fund raising events are the annual Ladies Luncheon , where a speaker presents the life and times of famous women spoken as a 1st person biography, and Womens Day Weekend , with fun events for 3 days !
The amount of good they do for the community is outstanding. The donation drive for Hygiene products lone shows that they thing out of the box and want to help people in every way possible.
Wonderful women-led organization that raises funds for other local charities, provides scholarships to female students, and is heavily involved with supporting area events.
Members & guests of GLWA are one the most generous and thoughtful association's I am privileged to be a part of. We recently had a members general meeting which included past Presidents. We included a much needed request from one of our beneficiaries, Lakeland Animal Shelter in Delavan. They were in dire need of cat food and supplies. Our group came through the doors of our meeting with their arms full of supplies. We were so grateful and dropped those off immediately.
Suppose you are looking for a way to meet new friends and make a difference in your community. Look no further! GLWA provides it all. We are here for you at any stage in your life. By volunteering at Safety Town or organizing a bleach drive for the Animal Shelter. Let's not forget about our fundraisers: Laday Day Luncheon and Women's Weekend Lake Genever. You can be involved with helping others and have fun while doing it. There's a place for you here at GLWA.
GLWA is such an amazing organization! The kindness, love, and willing to help the community is above and beyond.
My two kids took part in safety town. GLWA offers this class to all 5 years olds. It is a wonderful way to teach kids about home, road, fire, and K-9 units safety. Both my kids love it and learned so much! We are lucky to have GLWA in our community! Thank You.
This organization i have found is a great group of people with much compassion and truly work well together for the charities they endorse. I enjoy being a part of it when i can.
After the loss of someone close to me whom I had been caring for, I wanted to find a way to channel my grief so that I might continue to help others. Even though I work full-time, I didn't have any “extra” money to just give, but I did have time that I knew I could provide.
I decided to explore a GLWA member drive after seeing it advertised on Facebook. I almost didn't go since I'm shy, but I turned around and pulled into the venue. I was greeted by several very enthusiastic GLWA members who recognized my shyness and drew me in with talk about the work GLWA does, as well as the Walworth County organizations they support and the events they host. Walworth Food Pantry and Diaper Bank, Lakeland Animal Shelter, New Beginnings, Twin Oaks Shelter, and many other organizations are among them. They hold fundraising events and will volunteer for these organizations as needed to assist them in raising donations and in other ways.
I knew I had to be a part of it after that. I went to a couple of meetings and soon became a member. Then Covid happened, and my first year of GLWA experience was in uncharted waters.
Despite the lack of in-person events, they still found methods to assist groups. I was astounded by how caring these women were. We come from diverse walks of life, and almost all of us have full-time jobs, but we're all here for the same reason: to help others. Within this group, I've made some amazing friends.
GLWA has been serving our community for over 60 years and continues to do so.
