the telling history project (thp) - understanding the past to create the future - stems from the core intent of our work to help youth become global citizens and build a positive future, teaching students about universal human rights through the lens of recent and current world events. The thp curriculum includes the study of the genocides of the past two decades in bosnia, rwanda, darfur, as well as international cultural exchanges with youth from bosnia and rwanda. Youth are informed about global and community issues and provided tools to take action and make a difference. Several thp programs were primarily run in 2 nyc schools: townsend hs and unity hs.
