Mission: GBIA provides benefits to people living with the symptoms and outcomes of acquired brain injury, support, and information to their families, and expands public awareness. GBIA is actively involved in the global standardization of brain injury diagnosis and treatment protocols.
Results: Global Brain Injury Awareness Facebook community page reaches our audience, (currently 6934vpeople like and 7,121 people follow) from across the world. Educational Webinars Our Facebook group page, ‘Unravelling Brain Injury,’ (with over 612 members), organizes sand supports the registration for cognitive retraining webinars provided by our partner, Best Education Strategies & Technology, a non-profit based in California • Registration for webinars from January through July 2022 has exceeded 180 per month Virtual Therapy Clinic: In conjunction with Essex University and our partners Happy Neuron Pro we are expanding the provision of free occupational therapy and speech and language clinics throughout the world. The expansion will be managed by GBIA. Essex University is running a research project to capture the outcomes of this innovative scheme. “Brain Injury Global Picnic” is an annual global awareness campaign, the goals of which are to : • Educate the public to bring cultural and social change, acceptance and understanding • Increase awareness through education to prevent brain injury • Reach people living with brain injury, their families, and friends – particularly those who don’t use social media. Everyone needs to know they are not alone • Bring a voice to people whose lives have been affected by brain injury Started in 2012 through GBIA CIC UK, this annual awareness campaign reaches thousands of people globally.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Our charitable organization in the UK, established in 2019 has helped over 7000 people. We newly incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in the US in April of 2022 and are collaborating with brain injujry support groups nationally in the US reaching hundreds of survivors, families and professionals.

Programs: • Bringing information, education, support, and virtual rehabilitation to people who have no or limited medical support and to people who are isolated • Working with experts, government, and associated organizations to close the gaps in health provision • Education and increasing public awareness with the aim of preventing traumatic brain injuries. Public awareness and education stimulate cultural understanding and help reduce stigma • Promoting and supporting research • Supporting and collaborating with other organizations across the world to bring real change
