Causes: Botanical, Horticultural & Landscape Services, Environment
Mission: Community gardening, land conservation and environmental education are the primary activities. The community gardening program assists in development and maintenance of gardens with materials and neighborhood outreach. The land program acquires and preserves open space.
Programs: Community gardening: assist neighborhoods in development and maintenance of approximately 50 gardens with materials, supplies, utilities, technical assistance and neighborhood outreach.
land conservation: acquire, preserve and protect open space; conduct educational programs; distribute newsletters; nature walks; outreach to schools and neighborhoods.
schooner program: protect and promote the natural and cultural resources of new haven, connecticut through access to outdoor environments, conservation, stewardship, and education.
