Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Dependency, Prevention & Treatment
Mission: The mission of gastineau human services is to serve individuals, their families and the community by providing structured treatment and employment opportunities with an emphasis on those persons who are criminal offenders and/or substance abusers.
Programs: The glacier manor community residential center is a correctional rehabilitation center emphasizing client access to education, training, employment, treatment of behavioral health disorders and adequate housing. This program includes a residential component that can accommodate up to 85 clients, and a community supervision component that can include up to 15 clients. During the past year this program provided a total of 28,408 client-days of residential services and 2,515 client-days of community supervision.
the behavioral health treatment program provides addictions treatment services for adults in an outpatient setting. This program provides screening and assessments, individual counseling, group counseling, formal education, and case management services for clients recovering from addictions. During the past year this program served 225 individuals.
the homeless assistance program aids those who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Homeless prevention services include emergency shelter, assistance with rent and utility arrearages. This program also provides direct services to homeless families such as mental health services and assistance with permanent housing placement. This program often acts in concert with other service providers. During the past year this program provided 10,146 client-days of residential services, homeless prevention and placement services to 91 households, and support to local emergency shelters.
other program services:* the community service program provides community service work opportunities in lieu of fines for individuals convicted of misdemeanor offenses. On average this program sees 90 individuals per year; these individuals contribute approximately 3,600 hours of work service to the community per year. * the supported employment program seeks to facilitate the recovery of adults with severe behavioral health disorders through meaningful and appropraite employment placements. This program targets competitive employment, is rehabiltative, and often acts in concert with other treatment services. During the past year this program served 68 individuals.
