Mission: The mission of Gary Brackett's IMPACT Foundation is to promote health, to advance education, and to relieve the poor, distressed and underprivileged by providing resources and opportunities to children, including children who are mentally challenged, physically challenged, socially disadvantaged, or economically disadvantaged. Since 2007, Gary Brackett's charitable efforts have impacted the lives of nearly 200,000 Indiana residents.
Programs: Field of Dreams The Field of Dreams program was established to present critically and chronically ill children and their families with magical memories by fulfilling sports wishes and vacation dreams. In the summer of 2008, Gary invited 15 families to join him at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana and treated each family to a five star experience at the West Baden Springs Hotel & Resort. In July of 2010, Gary hosted 12 families at Holiday World. There are also a wide range of opportunities throughout the year for kids to enjoy, including tickets to the Colts and Pacers games. Gary's Locker Gary's Locker provides patients and their families access to notebook computers, movies and video game systems to occupy their time during their hospital stay. In the spring 2007, the first locker was placed in the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent. In the fall of 2008, the second Gary's Locker was placed in the blood disease wing at Clarian North Medical Center. In December of 2009, the third locker was launched at Riley Hospital for Children. This locker alone reaches the lives of 150,000 people per year. TendHER Heart Luncheon The TendHER Heart Luncheon is hosted each year to honor mothers of chronically and critically ill children for the sacrifices they make in caring for their ill child. The brunch provides these women with the opportunity to "take a minute" for themselves and enjoy each other's company and support. The mothers are served gourmet breakfast and lunch dishes and are sent home with a few special treats to enjoy. Holiday Celebration Each December, Gary and a few of Santa's elves host a party for critically and chronically ill children and their families. Each child, siblings included, is given a few gifts from Santa. They also get to spend some time visiting with Gary and Santa, while enjoying some dinner and refreshments.
