Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development Programs
Mission: The Game Theory Academy team has guided 360 youth through our programs this year: Make Your Decisions Count, our signature strategy-thinking, personal finance curriculum; WOW Farm, our urban farm entrepreneurship program; and a volunteer-driven job readiness program for student alumni. Working in cities with high childhood poverty rates, we connect with both the young person who is teetering towards crime, and another who is college-bound and hungry for tools to make that dream a reality.
Target demographics: at-risk young adults between the ages of 16 and 22
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 300 youth in the Bay Area
Geographic areas served: Oakland and Richmond creating opportunities with financial education
Programs: financial education classes and paid internships where students learn professionalism and how to run a business
