Mission: Develop strong community leaders by making grants to organizations globally that provide leadership training and to grassroots organizations whose founders demonstrate positive leadership qualities.
Programs: Grassroots leadership developmentleaders' quest foundation usa continued to support organizations empowering grassroots leaders in the developing world to build self-reliant communities by addressing issues that include sustainable livelihoods, access to education and health services and environmental concerns. Since lqf's fellowship programme began in 2004, a total of 1,180 fellows (current and former) are working in disadvantaged communities around the world, having a positive impact on the lives of more than 2 million people. Leaders' quest foundation usa (lqf usa) supports a social leadership training program in india operating in slum communities. This program is also supported by leaders quest foundation uk (lqf uk). The uk foundation is a separate, independent entity from lqf usa, with different board members. Both lqf usa and lqf uk provide funding for the india training program to finance its budget. During 2014, enough funding had been provided by lqf uk, and so unusually lqf usa did not make any grants. In 2015, lqf usa will resume making its usual grants to the india leadership training program. Lqf usa's board does not take any salary or compensation. It administers lqf usa on a volunteer basis. This work includes soliciting donations, making grants to the india program, and reviewing outcomes of the program.
