My world turned upside down on August 12th, 2014 when my loving husband attempted suicide in our home, while our 2 year old and I slept upstairs, after battling years of high-functioning depression which went undiagnosed and untreated. Trying to come to terms with the loss, and my subsequent PTS and anxiety diagnoses, I began fundraising for AFSP but decided I needed to do more in our own community. I started working on my own nonprofit which will hopefully be incorporated this year. It will be dedicated to suicide awareness, education, and prevention in honor of Tony. It is my hope that it will help save lives and provide a legacy for my son where he can feel connected to his father and honor his life.
